Google shuts down Drive for Mac/PC

Google has announced that Google Drive for Mac/PC will be shutting down on May 12, 2018. Initially, the Drive desktop sync client for Mac and PC was slated for shutdown on March 12, 2018.

G Suite users are advised to switch to Drive File Stream while non-G Suite users are recommended to use Backup and Sync. Despite the announcement, Google noted that the shutdown won’t affect other Google Drive services.
