PointStar embraces growth, diversity and inclusion
Muhammad Syafiee2022-06-13T17:53:38+08:00PointStar has transformed thousands of businesses and organizations by moving them digitally to the cloud – a move that has benefited such companies to keep up with the ever fast-paced changes of the digital landscape. While PointStar’s focus on business continues, it has also transformed Aqil Hidayat, its cloud solutions engineer, by allowing him to upskill himself through education.
Learning Never Stops
An alumni of Republic Polytechnic, Aqil took an interest in cloud computing even prior to pursuing his diploma. Following his graduation and completion of his National Service, Aqil was subsequently employed by PointStar, which is a partner of Republic Polytechnic under its Work-Study program.
Under PointStar, Aqil was allowed flexibility in balancing his work and studying in his routine towards his second diploma, and as of today, his degree under Singapore University of Social Sciences.
Diversity and Inclusion
To build such a support system to its team members, PointStar understands the importance of diversity and inclusion (D&I) as it’s beyond just policies, programs or headcounts. A diverse and inclusive workplace is one that makes everyone, regardless of who they are or what they do for the business, feel equally involved in and supported in all areas of the workplace.
PointStar contributes to D&I by supporting and respecting the unique needs, perspectives and potential of all its team members. This is emblematic of how people like Aqil are given opportunities to work around obstacles and given win-win frameworks that not only benefit PointStar but also to themselves as they journey towards upgrading themselves.
PointStar is proud to see and contribute in Aqil’s journey and achievements towards the betterment of his relevance in this fast-paced digital landscape.
