Tour a Google Data Centre In 360°
Ever wondered how Google manages thousands of petabytes of storage across its services around the world? The answer lies in its state-of-the-art data centres, and you can now take a close look inside. Google has released a 360-degree video in glorious 4K resolution that takes you through its data centre in The Dalles, Oregon.
Several months ago, Google Cloud Developer Advocacy Team had a rare opportunity to look at the data centre. But then, when it has been experienced, it was beyond imagination. How staggering Google has incredible attention to details on minding the security and privacy of a run data centre, also make the data center efficient and green to improve the data center, Google wanted to improve more by investing $600 million in upgrade the data centre so it can have an expansion for operating its data centre.
And for in south-east Asia, Google is going to build a second data centre in Singapore. It is planned to build in the middle of the year 2017 with an estimated budget of US$500 million (S$675 million). Google made a plan on building in Singapore because it is claimed to be a reliable infrastructure with a 2.45 hectares of land in Jurong West and Singapore commit to business-friendly regulations. Singapore is also a country with the fastest growing internet markets in the world where millions of users use online every day.
