Google to introduce new Gmail design
Google will be introducing a new Gmail design with a slew of nifty new features. Looking at the screenshots obtained by The Verge, Gmail has been given a Material Design makeover.
Gmail will be getting Smart Reply and Snooze which were first introduced in Google’s Inbox app for Gmail. Google is also including a sidebar in Gmail that allows users to set meetings on Calendar, take notes or do tasks.
There will also be three new layouts for Gmail; default view, comfortable view and compact view. The default view highlights attachments like documents and photos, while comfortable view removes attachment highlights, and compact view is similar to the current Gmail message layout.
The new Gmail design is expected to roll out in the next few weeks just in time for Google’s I/O developer conference on May 8.
